The popularity of "special music" appears to be increasing among some churches of Christ. Solos, quartets, choirs, etc. are now being used in church worship services, especially in the larger, urban congregations. After noting briefly the testimony of early church and restoration history, the author brings into sharp focus the meaning of reciprocity in Ephesians 5:19 and Colossians 3:16. He discusses the significance of "each one has a psalm" in 1 Corinthians 14:26 and also gives attention to the use of "vocal bands."
